Dr. Ar Bernard was here last week & I was totally blown away by his sermons & revelations. He's a very good interpreter of God's word. 19Augusto6 2nd session on saturday was about making choices in life. Our world is dependent on a system of order, if not everything wld be in chaos. God is not a creator of chaos, He's the GOD of ORDER. Our world is an open universe, which leads to free will & freedom of choice. The presence of choice means the universe is open. Love is a choice. You cant fall in or out of love. If love is an emotion, we can only feel it. & God cant us command to love. When people say that they've fallen out of love, that also means they chose not to love their partner anymore. We cannot disobey w/o first obeying. Your life is composed by your own choices. In every choices you make, there is a cause -> effect -> cause. If you're not consious of what you're doing, you'll be a victim of it while in the first place, you created it. Things work in divine order, & divine order leads to freedom! Kristos Kai Kosmos = Christ in Culture Christ in Society Christ in Social Order God's mercy and grace is working in people even before their salvation. God blesses those who received salvation beyond and above the universe because of the covanent relationship He has w/ them. 20Augusto6 3rd session was about Pattern. God has his pattern to do things in the world. Relationship is the network for life. We cannot advance in life without relationships. We move forward because people help us get there. No man is an island. We get influence by the company we hang out with. We'll never grow beyond the people we surround ourselves in. Our intimacy with people must change as time progresses so that we can re-adjust ourselves to accept changes. All relationships follow God’s pattern: #1: INTRODUCTION #2: ACQUAINTANCE #3: FRIENDSHIP #4: INTIMACY Violations of God's pattern: - introduction straight to intimacy - introduction straight to friendship Violation has consequences. Whatever we sin against in life, we bring death. DO NOT wait to repent and issue forgiveness if you sin against a relationship. Because the longer you wait, the worse it becomes, the bigger it becomes, and the bigger the death becomes. ERROR INCREASES WITH DISTANCE. In a relationship, distance is not measured by miles, it's measured by affection. When people sin against us in a relationship, we withdraw our affection to the person. We stopped talking to each other. And the longer we stop talking to each other, the longer the issue drags. And when we want to piece back the broken pieces, we don’t even know where to start, because we forget what has caused the breakdown of relationship. Sin separates lovers, best of friends. When Adam was created, he was in intimacy with God. And when Adam sinned against God, he brought death to the relationship. And so the distance between God and Adam becomes bigger and bigger. Holiness and sin cannot come together. And so God had to re-position Adam so that the garden will not be corrupted. Because Adam sinned against God, and men fell. Because of this, people are born fallen. To build back the relationship with our creator God, God built back relationships through his own pattern. From introduction, to acquaintance, to friendship, then intimacy. General revelation VS Special revelation. When we are born into this world, we look at the beautiful things around us and we know that there is a God who created all these. This is a general revelation of God. And God wants to take this further. So he reveals himself as Jesus. When we get to know Jesus ourselves, we have a special revelation of our God. God restores our relationship with him through one man at a time to bring revelation of himself to a country. And from that country, nations will know who God really is. Noah -> Abraham -> Moses God's purpose is to bring back the intimacy God had with his people, before the fall of Adam. The process (going through God's pattern) allows us to discover the reality of a person. Knowledge is power. Knowledge of the truth is even greater. Knowledge translates into authority. We need to be trained. Counselling is only for those who do not know how to implement the trainings received. We have a responsibility to be intelligent. And we become intelligent by aquiring knowledge and information. Our mind is the most powerful computer in the world. Our mind turns information into beliefs. Our beliefs then immediately impact our self esteem and self worth. It is then converted into actions and behavior based on the impact received. Those actions then produce certain results in our lives. Those results in turn become habits and they either bring us success or failure. IT IS A PATTERN. And so if we want to deal with our successes and failures, we have to go back to the information we receive. We have to renew our minds. Because it translates the information we receive. Renewing your mind = Changing the way you think. How do we renew our mind? By taking in new information. When we take in new information, we change the way our minds think. Every bad decision we make in our life is because of the information we have and the way our mind think at that time. God downloaded in Adam's mind information that will help him to fulfill what God wants him to do. When Adam sinned against God, God went straight into the root of the problem. He went straight into the information. Adam sinned against God when he received information which is contrary to what God has given him. Input = Output. To restore Adam back into the intimacy with God, God gave his word to heal, to deliver. God gives new information. God uses us as a body to bring new information back to the world. He uses you and me to penetrate the marketplace. We are His tool, and His seed to bring healing and deliverance to the world! John 1:1-4 When God sows a seed in us, the devil sows his in his people. And they are planted side by side. However, God did not want to remove the seed the devil planted. Because greater he is who is in us, than he who is in the world! We will prevail! We will be the last one standing! In the world, but not of the world. We’re not afraid of the people in the world. We’ll change them! X)) credits cons for 3rd session notes :] 26Augusto6, Making Marriage Work. IN-LAWS: Ensuring in-laws Do not become "Out-laws" Once you're married, there must be a clear-cut leaving. Which also means that you are not supposed to stay w/ yr parents or in-laws. Leave emotionally, financially, and cleave now to your mate. We got to respect and honour our parents even when you feel they dont deserve it. Their blood is in us & we cant change that. 5 in-law inssues married couples must deal #1 The issue of REALITY. - Accept the reality that your parents aren't perfect people. They're sinners & have a fallen nature like us. So they wont understand us like God, & wld do something that will make us feel miserable. Dont feel depressed because of it. #2 The issue of LOYATHY. Who will you save during a shipwreck when yr mum is on yr right, and yr mate on the left? Answer: Your mate. - Loyathy to parents must remain but loyathy towards your mate should be increasing everyday. Your mate is your most important person after you're married! Never side your parents when they're having a conflict w/ your mate. Dont even keep silent about it. Stand up for your partner! #3 The issue of AUTHORITY. Who's in control? - You shdn't let your parents make choices for you when they're at your house. YOU ARE IN CONTROL. Likewise, if you're at their house, they're in control of how things work. #4 The issue of PRIORITY. - Give priorities to parents on special occasions. eg, new year Give them advance notice if you're going abroad on such days. #5 The issue of DIGNITY. - We're not to ridicule or belittle our parents. Show interest to their stories, even if they told you a hundred times before. How long can they still say it to you? Respect them. When we maintain a right "space" w/ both sets of parents, we will enjoy a healthy mature relationship w/ them. 27Augusto6, Making Marriage Work SEX: You are sexual-Rejoice! It's a little awkward but it's good knowledge! xD God's 10 views on sex in marriage #1 Sex is God's will for every married couple. #2 Sex is God's will way before the Fall. - God is the inventor of sex. Not Satan nor Adam or Eve. Satan made sex pervertic. #3 Sex is for married couple to come into union. - To " be of one flesh" is a figure of speech. It means a union or bonding in the invisible realm of the soul and spirit. We call that the soul-tie --- the body, soul and spirit are somehow blended and bonded tgt. The 1st purpose of sex is to produce unity between the husband and wife, not to produce children. #4 Sex is nothing shameful. #5 Sex is for communicating love to your mate. In God's plan, sex was intended to provide a means of totally revealing oneself to be loved, of pouring one's energies and deepest love, affection, hopes and dreams into your mate. #6 Sex within marriage is pure and holy. #7 Sex outside marriage is fornication[before marriage] & adultery[affair]. - It's a sin! Sex is exclsively design for ONE women men. It should be a private affair. If you have sex w/ somebody of e same sex, it is homosexuality. #8 Sex is for pleasure #9 Sex is for procreation of children. #10 Sex is to be enjoyed throughout a couple's lifetime. 10 bible ways of satisfying one's spouse sexually #1 Anticipate that the sex will be enjoyable. - The most important sex organ is the brain. #2 You must fulfill your spouse's sexual needs regularly. - It's a duty, not and option. Men are like lightbulbs while women are like iron[ man can switch on&off the mood faster while women takes more time]. God created us to make sex an art form, not something mechanical[ sex is not a chop-chop kinda thing]. For the man, it is gg to require alot of LOVE,SKILLS and PATIENCE to set the wife up for satisfying sex. Every couple will struggle to come to a satisfying sex life. #3 Fulfill your spouse's sexual needs affectionately and tenderly. #4 Your spouse has authority over your body for his or her pleasure. #5 Abstaining from sex is only permissible only if both spouses agree. - Dont use sex as a weapon, or to manipulate your partner. #6 Restore normal sexual relations as soon as possible. #7 Good sex is effective spiritual warfare. #8 Create the right atmosphere for sex. #9 Communicate w/ your spouse what you need in sex. #10 Do not do any sexual act that will offend your spouse. 7 Attitudes of a great lover #1 Be totally available. #2 Be carefree. #3 Be ATTRACTIVE. #4 Be eager. #5 Be creative. #6 Be uninhibited. #7 Be passionate. FIRST. Name of a new worship song. :DD Service was about Making Marridge Work. These will make men happy. x) The role of the wife: Helper But dont be mistaken. We're not created to be slaves, neither to be objects of enjoyment, nor are in any way inferior then them. They're PARTNERS. The wife is supposed to help her husband achieve his DREAM. Proverbs 31 tells you bout it. They must be thoroughly familiar w/ her husband's visions, dreams & goals. She must believe always encourage him. The wife is supposed to be a counterpart to her husband. They are interdependenton each other. [When e husband is assured that his wife is not trying to challenge him for headship i nthe marriage, he can be SECURE in his role as a leader.] The husband must DEFINE the help he needs. The responsibility of the wife: Submission 1) to organise herself under her husband. 2) wife's submission to her husband is an imperative command. 3) Wife is to submit herself willingly to her husband - As long as it is in the boundary.Not sinning. If not, it will results to an Unhappy marriage, Rebellious & rude children, or Divorce. 4) Wife encourages her husband's masculine headship w/o trying to usurp or weaken it. Submission is an attitude. An attitude of honour. We will nv change a man by nagging at him. Never disgrace him in public either. Greatest thing men want from women? Respect[even when they are not respectable], Honour[even when they're not honourable], Admiration[even when they are imperfect] & Submission[even when they're wrong]. The role of the husband: The nature of a husband's love for his wife. 1) love her like Christ loved the church. 2) its an imperative command. 3) the husband must first love with his emotions than his actions. 4) the husband must actively choose to love his wife. 5) the husband is to love his wife sacrifically. 6) the husband is to love his wife as his own body. 7) the husband is to love his wife as himself. 8) the husband is to love his wife by showing understanding. 9) the husband is to love his wife my constantly praising her. 10) the husband is to love his wife by generous gift giving. (all the ladies say?) Responsibility of a husband : How do wives what their husband to lead? 1) as protector 2) as a provider 3) as a physician (caring) 4) as a leader 5) as a prophet (vision) 6) as priest (spiritual leader) 7) as king 8) as a lover (body, mind and soul) Practically, Im just copying the whole sermon outline.  hehehs :D The SOS event at sentosa was FUN but darn exhausting. Was in a team which consisted of Constance, Michelle, Jerry, Desmond, Yongjun, Ben[leader] & me. Cool teaming. (: We played AMAZING RACE; 6 stations to be completed in 4 hrs. We were running & chionging all the way man. Some of the stations were like so extremely GROSS.There was fear factor, where we were forced to eat centipedes, hornets, cockroaches etc. We girls were like screaming away but finally, still ate a small part of the centipede. It was like EEEEEK, enough to make ppl puke. Fried ones btw. >< Another station was to mix flour w/ water and use it to gel our hair. LOL We took a grp photo after doing that. It stinks but we managed a smile. (:  Tons more but Im lazy to write. The most elated thing was to win the race!!! Our team won the first prize, 100bucks of nike vouchers. =D  && more photos! How can we not take photos? *laughs  JUMP! XD I was almost jumping. lol  Bad hair day? Top left; Me,Nicole,Siying Bottom left; Constance,Jolina,Jeanette & Judith.  Lady WARRIORS of Christ. Dont mess w/ us.;D  Everyone was singing the National Anthem. National day what, must respect. Can you see the helicopter there? LOL!  Me & cons. :DDD  Me & Siying. Nicole tied it for us!  & enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sunset. :]

FOP was great. Yongjun is now known as She Wei Xiang as he resembles him if you look at him closely. LOL CHC's 17th anniversary was TREMEDOUSLY GREAT !!! The presence was there, CCC band & Don meon came to lead in praise & worship and the sermon is piping hot! XD The dancers did a good job too. Enjoyed myself alot. :] <3 Pst kong & Sun lah. They're so cute. *laughs sentosa tmr. (: SOS event~ oh btw, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE !!!
